The only candidates running for Students’ Association president and vice president have announced their campaign is coming to an end.

Hunter Eide, junior human biology major, and Trinity Peterson, sophomore political science and agriculture education double major, were set to run together for president and vice president, respectively.

“We want to make it clear there are no hard feelings between the two of us, and we look forward to working together in the future, just not in this capacity,” the campaign said on social media.

According to a SA press release, the pair officially withdrew Wednesday, Feb. 8. The Students’ Association Board of Directors approved the withdrawal Feb. 10.

Eide and Peterson were nominated Jan. 30 at the SA meeting by Sen. Madison Fitch. The nomination was seconded by Sen. Ryder Mortenson and approved via unanimous vote.

The SA meeting Feb. 13 is the final opportunity for senators to nominate candidates for president and vice president.

Last year, the current SA president, Blake Pulse, and vice president, Anna Shane, ran uncontested.

The Collegian will live tweet the Feb. 13 meeting at http://www.twitter.com/collegian_live followed by our weekly SA brief.
