Along with classes being canceled from March 16 to March 20, multiple other activities on campus are canceled due to the spread of COVID-19.

Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dennis Hedge confirmed that all on-campus events and activities at South Dakota State will be canceled until further notice.

According to Hedge, university officials are notifying individuals that all events will be canceled until April 14.

Shawn Helbolt, director of admissions at SDSU, sent out a message to prospective and admitted students Friday, March 13. He informed students of the cancelations, but stressed that the Office of Admissions “will remain open” for now.

Helmbolt also encouraged students to contact the Office of Admissions if they need support during this process or have questions and requests.

“We want to ensure we are readily available for admitted and prospective students,” Helmbolt said in his message.

Helmbolt’s full message to students is on sdstate, as well as all COVID-19 response updates

As of now, classes are still scheduled to resume March 23.
