Thomas Rhett concert postponed to December

Due to illness, Thomas Rhett’s upcoming Home Team Tour will be postponed.

The rescheduled dates are listed below, and all tickets will be honored on the new dates.

  • Nov. 29 at Xcel Energy Center — St. Paul, Minnesota.
  • Dec. 1 at Swiftel Center — Brookings, South Dakota.
  • Dec. 2 at CenturyLink Center — Omaha, Nebraska.

Any ticket questions should be directed toward the original point of purchase.

More than 6,000 tickets were sold for the nearly sold-out show in Brookings, according to Kristina Lankow, sales and marketing manager at the Swiftel Center.

Sophomore animal science major Ellys Johnson bought tickets the hour they came out in late June.

“It was kind of a big highlight of this week so it’s really disappointing,” Johnson said.

The rescheduled date for Brookings is during the final week of the semester when students are typically studying and finishing final projects.

“I’m pretty sure I’ll still be able to go, but it’s the weekend before finals so that’s really stressful,” Johnson said.

Although the new date is close to finals, Johnson said she is glad it was not rescheduled for a date during Winter Break, as home is four hours away for her, much like many other students.

“We got lucky with rescheduling,” Lankow said. “They wanted to make sure it lined up with Xcel and CenturyLink and the stars really aligned. We had that December first date open and it worked for Thomas as well as Old Dominion and Walker Hayes, so it worked fairly easily.”

Lankow said the Swiftel Center wanted to get this information out quickly to allow time for out-of-town concert goers to make new arrangements.

“We hope Thomas Rhett feels better soon; we’re really looking forward to seeing him and our concertgoers on Dec. 1,” Lankow said.

Anyone with questions about their tickets should contact the original point of purchase. Lankow said those who purchased from Swiftel can contact the box office at (605) 692-7539 or [email protected].
