Janet Lord has been named the new head of the South Dakota State University College of Nursing undergraduate program.

Lord, who spent the last 20 years of her career teaching at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Center, has a doctorate degree in nursing from the University of Texas.

Lord plans to expand enrollment, and continue to build the college’s accelerated program, on-line degree services, and grant funding for minority students.

The position has been empty since Jan. 2002, when Judith Vinson took a job in the college of nursing at Michigan State University.
