Softball team falls under .500

The SDSU softball fell under the .500 mark this past weekend.
The team began its skid with a pair of losses at St. Cloud State last Thursday. The Huskies squeaked out a 2-1 win in the opener. SCSU then proceeded to win 8-3 in the final game of the evening.
SDSU lost four over the weekend also. A 5-4 loss to USD began an 0-4 slid as the Coyotes pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Ashley Kalina hit her fifth homerun of the season.
The Jacks were then on the short end of a 23-8 slugfest against Nebraska-Omaha.
Bobbie Jo Mitchell had a home run and three RBI for the Jacks.
The softball team then lost a 3-1, eight-inning heartbreak to Northern Colorado in their third game on Saturday.
SDSU finished its weekend with another close defeat as they fell to Augustana 6-4 in nine innings.
The Jacks were led by Jill Hlavacek, who hit a home run in her final home game at SDSU;
The softball Jacks are now 25-28 on the season with a 2-12 mark in the NCC.
They finish up their season this weekend in the NCC Championships.
