If you want to get involved in something on campus, there are a lot of opportunities.
SDSU’s Medieval Society is not new, but it is certainly a popular club on campus, and for good reason.
The society is open to students from any major. It encourages people to research different aspects of the Middle Ages or the Renaissance and then do fun projects such as re-enacting lifestyles of characters that interest them.
As a member, you can get involved in other things as well. Throughout the year the society gives classes on various aspects of the Middle Ages, such as the food, clothing, wine making, archery, and dances popular during that time period.
Members can even participate in sword fighting at certain times of the year.
The local organization often participates in period events around the area, where society members display projects and enjoy a feast together. The next event is scheduled for Nov. 13 in Volga.
Students interested in learning about and experiencing life in the Middle Ages and Renaissance can attend the next meeting of the Medieval Society on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Northern Plains Biostress Laboratory.
Organizations or clubs, sororities or fraternities, student government or religious groups, getting involved at SDSU isn’t as difficult as you’d like to think.
