Villain or hero?

It doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes I have to pause a video game just to wipe the sweat from my white-knuckled hands and tell myself that it’s, well, just a video game.

NASCAR: Chase For The Cup 2005 is one such game. EA Sports has outdone themselves by throwing in one of the greatest ideas ever into a NASCAR racing game–it allows you to become a hero or a villain.

Become a hero, and crowds will adore you. Choose the path of a villain: the crowds will love to hate you, and fellow racers will fear you.

Don’t pass this game up because you think NASCAR racing is boring–yes, all you do is turn left. But I guaran-damn-tee you, when you are in a race with two laps to go and three of your rivals breathing down your neck, you will forget to breathe.
