In regaurds to the riots that happened last night, 10/03/05. I would first like to say Hell Yeah!!! They kicked ass. Secondly, I hope everyone understands why they took place. The general overall theme was Fuck The Police!!! The reason for this I believe is because the students here are sick of dealing with the cops around here. They need to loosen up. I for one, and I know I’m not alone in saying this am sick of hearing about peoples dorm rooms getting busted cause UPD were looking in there windows. Or people that are walking and minding there own bussiness just trying to get home get minors. Or what about all the parking tickets that they gave out at Cadwell without warning. Even though the day prior it was fine to park where you were. It’s really some bull shit the way that the students here are treated by the SDSU Police. There are plenty of examples all around us. If you ask any givin student here on campus what they think about the police ten times out of ten there will be a negative conotation to that response. Unless you happen to ask a UPD. Then you will get a “Well, the police here have to be strict.” I have heard R.A.’s complaining about the police here too. I mean don’t them guys need to be on the same team. When you go on Facebook and look at the largest group that we have on campus. What is it? Fuck the Brookings Police. This is no coincidence. The students here live in fear of getting busted. I know I don’t have the money to be paying tickets that at any other campus would be unheard of. The police here are also the main reason everyone goes home on the weekend. Why take the risk of staying in Brookings for the weekend? If you can go home and not get messed with. I’m going to leave these thoughts in you guys at the collegians hands cause you are the ones that can put a voice to this whole riot. You guys have that power and I hope you take the ball and carry on what the student body started. Get the police to ease up around here. If someone isn’t driving drunk, or making noise and being stupid leave us alone and let us go home. That’s all that I’m asking for.
