New wireless Internet access points will soon fire up, the fruit of a partnership between the Students’ Association and the campus information technology office.

The access points will turn on by Feb. 15. Before that point, information on how students can access the wireless will be released.

“The Students’ Association has been a valuable partner in this process, and in working together, we have been able to pinpoint those areas that will provide the greatest access for the most number of students,” said Mike Adelaine, vice president for information technology.

SA President Alex Halbach said the new wireless points are just the latest step in the growth of wireless Internet access around campus.

“I think we are making steps in the right direction,” said Halbach. “They’re starting to understand that this is a priority for the students and should be for the university, as well.”
