The Jackrabbit soccer team will be back in action on Friday when Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne comes to town Oct. 13. Two days later, the Jacks square off at home against the University of Minnesota.

The season is quickly winding down for the Jacks, who sport a 3-8-2 record.

In their two most recent games, the Jacks managed to hold the opposition to just one combined goal, but failed to win either game. Lately, the defense has been stellar, but the problem for SDSU is the lack of scoring. The Jacks have not scored since the Sept. 15 matchup with Drake. More than six games have passed, and every game has seen the big ugly zero.

In the last two games, the Jacks have outshot the opposition, but are not getting the breaks or the bounces to go their way.

The play of Nicole Lograsso has been outstanding of late. Lograsso had 14 stops against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, leading the SDSU defensive effort in a 0-0 draw. Lograsso also played well in a 1-0 loss to rival North Dakota State. She faces two very different teams in the upcoming weekend.

IPFW has also had a problem scoring. With a 3-7-1 record, the team seems to match up evenly with SDSU, but with an interesting undertone. The two schools were both invited to join the Mid-Continent Conference. The match could evolve into a rivalry, as the two conference newcomers look to add a win to their resum
