Rob Zombie will be performing at the Swiftel Center Nov. 5.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. Prices are $30 in advance and $33 the day of the show.

Rob Zombie was born in Haverhill, Mass. His influences include The Ramones, The Misfits, Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath.

Zombie founded the band White Zombie in 1985. Its first album was titled Gods on Voodoo Moon. Then in 1998, after the break up of White Zombie, his first solo album, Hellbilly Deluxe, was released. Some of his more popular songs include “Dead Girl Supertar” and “Superbeast”. Zombie’s newest album, Zombie Live, was released Sept. 18.

Recently Zombie has been writing and directing films. His first film was House of 1,000 Corpses. It was released in 2003 and starred his wife, Sheri Moon. He recently remade the horror classic Halloween, released earlier this year.

Students like Tyler Maxwell, a sophomore psychology major, are “shocked” that Zombie is coming to town.

“I was ready to drive to Rapid City, where he will perform on Nov. 6, just to see him,” said Maxwell.

Matt Kinsella, a sophomore history education major, said this will be his second time seeing Zombie. “The first time I saw him was awesome,” he said. “He had screens behind him and a massive robot came on stage”.

Zombie’s North American tour with Ozzy Osbourne begins Oct. 18 in Seattle, Wash. However, Ozzy will not be joining him in Brookings; the band In This Moment will be opening for Zombie.

In This Moment is a Southern California-based rock/metal band. They were formed in 2005 by vocalist Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth. Their first album and debut single, Beautiful Tragedy, came out this year.
