Using great outside shooting and a 15-0 run in the second half the Jacks handed the Missouri Tigers their first loss of the season with a 78-63 victory on Nov. 18. at Frost Arena.

Missouri took the lead a few times during the first half of the game; however, when Kristin Rotert broke a 16 to 16 tie with a three-pointer, Missouri was left behind for the rest of the game.

Rotert has started her collegiate career with a three-pointer in every game of the season, leading the team with 11 three-pointers for the season.

Four Jacks players scored in the double digits; Rotert had the most with 17 points, Ketty Cornemann scored 16 points, Andrea Verdegan had 14 and Maria Boever raked in 11 points.

Courtney Grimsrud led the team in rebounds with nine, which was key for the Jackrabbits. They went 42 to 33 on the boards.

The Jacks were 9-of-23 in long-range attempts, and finished the game 28-of-66 from the field overall. They were also 13-of-15 at the line which was a season best, at 86.7 percent.

Missouri was 26-of-41 from the field at the end of the game, including 6-of-17 from behind the three-point arc. The Tigers only attempted seven free throws, making five for 71.4 percent.

The Jacks are undefeated so far this season with a 4-0 record, and they now hold a 52-22 record against Division I opponents since they moved from Division II at the start of the 2004/2005 season. SDSU now has a 5-3 record against its Big 12 Conference opponents and have improved to 91-11 at Frost Arena under coach Aaron Johnston.

Later this week, the Jackrabbits will play two games at the George Washington Thanksgiving Classic in Washington, D.C. They will play their nationally-ranked host George Washington on Nov. 23 at 4:30 p.m. Central Time and Southern Illinois at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 24.

SDSU will head to Washington D.C. to play in the George Washington Thanksgiving Tournament, playing GW on Nov.23 and Southern Illinois on Nov.24. The Jacks will not return home unitl they square off with the Northern Iowa on Dec.29.
