Men’s basketball hope to end up in Sioux Falls

The SDSU men’s basketball team will play 13 games in Frost Arena this season, including games against Cal-State Bakersfield and Upper Iowa. The Jacks also have 17 road games

They will play in the ESPNU BracketBuster game on either Feb. 20 or 21.

The Jackrabbits begin regular season play with a Nov. 14 match-up against San Jose State (Calif.) at Frost Arena, followed by a visit from Mayville State (N.D.) on Nov. 16.

To finish up the November portion of the schedule, the Jacks will head to Richmond, Va., to take on Virginia Commonwealth and then face Drake in Des Moines, Iowa.

On Nov. 29 to 30, the Jackrabbits will take on Central Florida and Central Arkansas in the Cancun Challenge in Cancun, Mexico.

December will pose a tough task for the Jacks, as they will have road games against Minnesota on Dec. 10 and Denver on Dec. 13. SDSU will also travel to Northern Iowa on Dec. 21 and Iowa State on Dec. 23.

In January, SDSU will play the majority of their conference games with a game at IPFW (Jan. 2), Western Illinois at home (Jan. 8) and IUPUI (Jan. 10).

North Dakota State comes to Frost Arena on Jan. 23, followed by IPFW on Jan. 29. The Pork Classic will bring Oakland to SDSU on Jan. 31.

To start the February schedule, the Jacks will play home games against Southern Utah (Feb. 12) and UMKC (Feb. 14) and road games against IUPUI (Feb. 5).

Later in February (26), the Jacks will play defending Summit League Champion Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla.

The Summit League Championship Tournament will take place March 7 to 10 in Sioux Falls.

“(The tournament is a) great thing for us, for our fans. I think they are already sold out of tickets,” SDSU men’s basketball head coach Scott Nagy said.

Last year, the Jacks went 8-21 with some close losses. They finished 10th place in the Summit going 3-15.
