The SDSU men’s basketball team started off their conference schedule with a win on Dec. 4 against Summit League opponent Centenary 71-58 at Frost Arena.

Centenary’s Chase Adams led all scorers with 21 points, while junior guard Garrett Callahan netted 20 points. Sophomore Dale Moss earned his first double-double of his career, with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Forward Anthony Cordova also had a double-double, with 15 points and 10 rebounds. It was Cordova’s second of the season, with his first coming in the season opener against San Jose State.

The Gents never held a lead in the game, trailing by as many as 10 points in the first half. With just under four minutes left in the game, an Adams three-pointer pulled Centenary to within two. However, the Jacks went on to score 17 points in the last three minutes to pull away for the 13-point victory.

The Jackrabbits dominated on the glass, out-rebounding Centenary 43-28.

The win snapped SDSU’s five- game conference losing streak.

This was somewhat of a revenge game for SDSU since the Gents ended the Jackrabbits 2007-08 season on a sour note, with a 69-64 win at Frost.
