Ellen DeGeneres played some spooky pranks on her guests during the Halloween taping of her show.

DeGeneres would send each guest into a fake changing room where she would be waiting in the bathroom to yell at them. Without fail, all five guests screamed or jumped. Taylor Swift fell completely on the floor after dissolving into giggles.

The unlucky celebrities caught unguarded were Swift, Lauren Graham, Katie Couric, David Spade and Mario Lopez. All of them thought DeGeneres’ prank was a funny one, and ended up laughing after the initial shock.

The videos of DeGeneres spooking her guests can be viewed at http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b151704_taylor_not_swift_on_her_feet_after.html.

Should only girls go to see New Moon when it debuts later this month? Not according to one of the stars, who spent Halloween hosting Las Vegas’ “Yelloween” party.

Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the Twilight Saga films, was reported as saying she thought men would enjoy the second vampire film much more than they may have enjoyed the first.

New Moon, she said, “is a little more-guy friendly ? it’s a lot more action-packed.”

She also describes the film as “kind of more about heartbreak and healing.

“Edward kind of breaks Bella’s heart, so you definitely see Jacob kind of swoop in to rescue her,” Greene said. “You get to see their chemistry and dynamic. It keeps you on the edge of your seat a little bit more than the first one.”

Men, then, should not feel timid about taking their female counterparts to see this film when it debuts Nov. 20.

The Michael Jackson documentary This Is It took in a reported $23.2 million last weekend in theaters. The documentary focuses on the training and planning of Jackson’s 50 sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena. The concerts were scheduled to begin in July 2009 but were canceled after Jackson died on June 25.

The movie offers a rare glimpse into the final days of his rehearsals and is put together from an estimated 80 hours of behind-the-scenes and rehearsal footage of the entertainment and music icon.

Worldwide, the Jackson film has taken in $106 million since its release. Sony, which released the movie, has decided to leave the film in theaters until at least Thanksgiving.

This Is It is currently playing at Brookings’ Cinema 5.

Diversity is getting positively recognized as Fox’s new musical comedy series Glee wins the 2009 Favorite New Diverse Ensemble Cast from The Diversity Awards during the month of November.

The show is winning the award because of its focus on a high school glee club that sits at the bottom of the social food chain. The club has the regular high school players, jocks and cheerleaders, but also includes a geeky girl, a gay student, a gothic Asian girl, a boy in a wheelchair and an overweight African-American girl.

“The bunch are determined to overcome the odds and make it to the big time both in high school and the world beyond,” The Diversity Awards executive committee said in a statement.

Presented each year by the Mulitcultural Motion Picture Association, The Diversity Awards will take place this year in Beverly Hills on Nov. 22.

The awards are given to promote characters and story lines, as well as actors of all backgrounds, in Hollywood and across America.

Saturday Night Live, the popular weekend show filled with comedy, musical acts, skits and celebrities, has announced its line-up of guest hosts for November.

On Nov. 7, country music singer Taylor Swift will perform as both host and musical guest, while January Jones will host the show on Nov. 14.

Jones, who grew up in Sioux Falls, S.D., is a star of the current AMC hit Mad Men. Performing musically that night will be The Black Eyed Peas with one of their new singles.

A week later, on Nov. 21, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will host. Gordon-Levitt, who starred in last season’s 500 Days of Summer, will announce the return of the Dave Matthews Band, who have not performed on SNL for nearly a decade.

Kathy Griffin, who hosts My Life on the D-List, has a new gig.

The comedian will host Let’s Dance on ABC every Monday beginning Nov. 23.

Let’s Dance will not be pairing up celebrities with non-famous folk. Rather, the stars on the show will have the opportunity to dance alone, with a partner or in a group.

A panel of judges, along with the help of viewers, will determine two acts to continue on during the show’s first three episodes. Each episode will allow the two best acts of the week to compete against one another and win a spot in the finale.

Let’s Dance is focused on raising money, support and awareness for charities. The winner of the finale will win $250,000 to donate to the charity of their choice.

Although the premise sounds interesting and beneficial to charities, the celebrity contestants and show judges have not yet been announced.

Let’s Dance premieres Nov. 23 at 8:30 p.m.
