SDSU’s Dairy Club placed high at their latest judging challenge.

The North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge was held in Visalia, Calif., April 9-10.

Thirty teams from around the country competed by analyzing one of four host dairies. The teams of four toured the dairy, asked the owners questions about their facility and formulated management recommendations. The teams then presented the results to five dairy industry judges.

The SDSU team received Second Place Platinum awards of $100 scholarships for each member.

Representing SDSU were Holly Bruns, Alex Ode, Samantha Wahls and Abigail Wirt. The coaches are Arnold Hippen and Matt Laubach.

According to the NADIC Web site, the mission of the competition is to facilitate education, communication and an exchange of ideas among students, agribusiness, dairy producers and universities that enhances the development of the dairy industry and its leaders.
