The trial for the man charged for last spring’s rapes, robberies and kidnapping begins Oct. 4. at 1:30 p.m. at the Brookings County Courthouse.

Chris L. Jones pleaded not guilty to five counts of second-degree rape, two counts of first-degree robbery, one count of kidnapping and attempted robbery in connection to three sexual assaults that occurred in Brookings.

The sexual assaults, two of which occurred on SDSU’s campus, began March 29 and ended April 21 with the arrest of Jones.

Jones had no connection to the university at the time of his arrest and had recently moved from Omaha, Neb., to Brookings. He was living with his girlfriend.
