SDSU beats Washington State Cougars on the road

PULLMAN, Wash. &- South Dakota State reserves accounted for a season-high 40 points, boosting the Jackrabbit women’s basketball team to a 72-61 non-conference victory over Washington State Tuesday night at Friel Court.

SDSU evened its record at 4-4, avoiding its first four-game losing streak under head coach Aaron Johnston.

Ashley Eide paced the Jackrabbits with a season-high 15 points, followed by Jennie Sunnarborg with 14 and Steph Paluch with a season-high 13. Paluch and Eide each tallied five assists, while Eide and Sunnarborg led the Jackrabbits’ 33-29 rebounding advantage with five boards apiece.

SDSU continues non-conference play on the road Dec. 13, traveling to Northern Iowa. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
