Love+is+Blind%3A+date+that+wasnt+so+blind

Aretha Wellman, freshman pre-pharmacy major, decided to put her love life into someone else’s hands and was set up on a blind date with Tite Divava, sophomore computer science major.

The date ended up not being so blind because when the two first locked eyes at Craft last week, they realized they actually knew each other.

Here are questions we asked the two students, before and after the date.

Before the date…

How would you describe yourself to someone new?

Aretha: Fun, nice and stylish.

Tite: Open-minded, friendly and funny.

What do you do in your free time?

A: Watch Netflix and Youtube.

T: I watch TV, I play video games, soccer and talk to my friends.

Why did you decide to go on a blind date?

A: I’m single … and I wanted to try something new.

T: Because, I kind of had a stressful weekend and I didn’t have plans tonight, so I was like, why not?

Are you nervous, if so why?

A: No, not at all.

T: I’m not nervous. I mean a little bit.

What qualities do you look for in a relationship?

A: Honest, funny and this is kinda corny, but someone who treats me like a princess.

T: If we have the same interests.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

A: When someone doesn’t put something back where it belongs.

T: If they are too shy.

Who is your ideal partner and why?

A: Someone I can laugh with.

T: Someone who is very funny.

Describe your perfect date?

A: Like in the movies; like a fairytale.

T: Well we hopefully get along, have fun and see each other after.

After the date…

What was your first impression?

A: I’m like yo, I already know you.

T: I already know you.

How did the date go and why?

A: I can honestly say really great. The last date that I went to, that guy, I wasn’t feeling it. Today, even though I know him, it was nice to know more things about him.

T: It went well because even though we already knew each other, we got to know each other better.

Would you go on a second date and why?

A:I don’t know if I would date him, but definitely hang out again.

T: Yeah I would, I thought it was going to be boring because we already know each other, but I would give it a try again.

What did you have to eat, how was the food and atmosphere?

A:I had a salad, it was good.

T: The food was good, I had chicken and fries.

Describe how you are feeling right now about the date in one word?

A: Happy.

T: Happy.

What was your favorite quality about the other person?

A: He was a good conversationalist.

T: She was open-minded, she was talkative and wasn’t shy.

Was there something significant that you two had in common?

A: We can relate in school, we are both failing a class.

T: They type of TV shows we like and what we look for in a relationship.

What is a piece of advice you want people to know if they are thinking about going on a blind date?

A: Definitely do it, I mean you never know how it could go.

T: Don’t go into it with the intention of finding your soul mate, but go in with the intention of having fun and enjoying the night.
